Kelley Dixon Pt. 2 - Sending the Elevator Back Down »

Kanen continues sitting down with Kelley Dixon and Mike J. Nichols for Part 2 of this interview to talk about climbing the editorial ladder, how Kelley landed the job on Reservoir Dogs, and how working on Breaking Bad doesn't limit one to being a "Breaking Bad editor".

The Song

This episode features the hit song, "That Post Show" by Andrew Ferris. Andrew is a talented musician who does great work. You should check out his website and his Twitter for more information.

The Editor

This episode was edited by Bart Walczak. Bart is Adobe Certified in Premiere Pro, instructs at fxphd, and has 15 years of experience in post production. Oh, he can also edit a wicked podcast too. Hit him up on twitter @bart_hema.

For those of us who grew up too late to really work with film in post, Wikipedia breaks down the different types of prints. Sally Menke was a renowned editor who worked with Quentin Tarantino. There was even a fun video from Inglourious Basterds where actors break character and say hi to Sally. Kanen recommends the underrated film Heathers edited by Norman Hollyn.

We are always looking for freelance artists, editors and VFX people who use Adobe Creative Cloud, including (and especially), Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition and, most recently, MAXON Cinema 4D. We are also (always) looking for listeners who are willing to write show notes for all our shows, including That Post Show. If you are interested, send us an email and we can discuss rates, upcoming work and the opportunity.

That Post Plea

Please take the time to write a review of That Post Show in iTunes. It helps us gain an audience and attract sponsors.

We are sponsored this week by Maxon who have just released Cinema 4D R16. We use it all the time and can't wait to dig in to new features like the reflectance channel, motion tracker, poly pen, and a deeper integration with AfterEffects.

We are also sponsored by Premiumbeat.com who have an outstanding curated collection of music and sound effects that could not be easier to incorporate into your production.

Kanen Flowers

Kanen is the Creative Director (and troublemaker) behind That Studio, which includes That Post Show, Ruining it for Everyone, Sci-Fi Idols, Not Just A Movie and Hero Punk. He is also the Writer and Director of Jake Forgotten. You can follow him on twitter.

Kelley Dixon

Kelley Dixon is known for her work on Reservoir Dogs, Good Will Hunting, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and her latest project, Better Call Saul. You can follow Kelly on Twitter @kelleydixon to learn more about her latest work.

Mike J. Nichols

Mike is the creator of Two Guys Drinking At a Bar starring Kevin Farley and Paul Preston, the producer and editor of the television series Punk Payback starring Bas Rutten which airs on FOX’s FUELtv network, and is now available on iTunes. Mike is also the man responsible for The Phantom Edit - an unauthorized re-edit of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Oh, and he does our theme song. Mike would love to chat on Twitter @TheEditDoctor.
